Five Ways To Bring Nature Into Your Home With KOO’s Artificial Plants

Five Ways To Bring Nature Into Your Home With KOO’s Artificial Plants

Indoor plants can help you turn your home into a lush paradise, but the upkeep required can be a little more intense than many of us would like! Plants need adequate light, water, nutrition and protection from pests in order to survive and thrive indoors. If all that work sounds like a little too much but you still love the look of indoor plants, artificial plants are your key to creating a plant-filled paradise at home!

But even though they're not nearly as fussy as the real thing, faux plants can't be placed just anywhere if you want to style them correctly. At KOO we've got some great tips on how to decorate with fake plants - check out some of our favourite ways for styling artificial plants below.

1. Hanging Fake Plants

When it comes to hanging artificial plants, you have quite a bit of flexibility when it comes to location. Hanging fake plants is perfect for small spaces when you don't have a spare table or bench for a potted plant, as all you need is a sturdy hook from the ceiling and you're good to go!

Hanging fake plants often look like tropical ferns or palms, making them ideal for blending right into humid areas of the home like the bathroom or laundry.

Plants with long, trailing vines can also look great hung in empty spaces - if one of the corners of your living room is looking a little bare, consider hanging fake plants from the ceiling there!

2. Styling Artificial Plants In The Bathroom

If you want to trick any untrained eyes into thinking your faux plants are the real deal, placing them in the bathroom is a good way to start. Many plants enjoy the humidity of bathrooms, especially plants native to the tropics like ferns, monstera plants and snake plants - so faux versions of these will look right at home.

Try not to let your artificial plants actually get wet and avoid areas like inside the shower itself. Great places to display faux plants in the bathroom include the windowsill, beside the sink, on top of your shower or even just in an empty corner of the floor.

3. Styling Artificial Plants On Your Shelves and Window Sills

Empty shelves can look a little sad while they're waiting to be filled, and one of the best things to use is some artificial plants! No matter how large or small your shelves are, you'll be able to find a perfectly-sized faux plant to fill the space you need.

Plants with extended vines and tendrils are great for styling on a shelf, as you can manipulate them to either elegantly hang down from the shelf or to trail across it, adding texture and colour to your space either way.

On the other hand, if you have jam-packed shelves but would still like to add a little greenery, look for small, distinctive faux plants such as artificial succulents. With their small pots and strong, spiny appearance, they're full of character and will stand out even in the smallest of spaces.

Styling Artificial Plants In Your Bedroom

4. Styling Artificial Plants In Your Bedroom

Some artificial greenery is wonderful to add to your bedroom, as it can help bring a sense of relaxation and even some getaway vibes to your sleeping space. In particular, artificial flowers and stems can really add to your bedroom's overall design, especially if you have a romantic or floral-themed bedroom to match them with.

Taller faux plants mimicking the fiddle leaf, palm or philodendron plants are perfect for that empty corner you're not quite sure what to do with, while smaller faux plants can look lovely on your bedside table or chest of drawers.

Finally, give your bedroom a tropical holiday feel with some hanging fake plants from the ceiling, such as ferns or ivy plants. Or for a more temperate feel, try a gorgeous faux eucalyptus bowl or a hanging string of pearls plant. But for safety reasons, avoid hanging them directly above where you sleep.

5. Styling Artificial Plants On Your Coffee Table

Brighten up a side or coffee table with the right faux plant. While most tables will only hold a small or medium-sized plant, it doesn't mean your greenery can't pack a punch! For maximum colour, choose a stylish vase or plant pot and fill it full of artificial flowers (it's also a fun chance to practise your flower arranging skills!). Or create a localised jungle using faux plants like the monstera, polyscia or ficuscunia varieties, which all have thick, glossy green leaves that complement each other beautifully.

For a more minimal but no less stylish approach, use a sparser plant like KOO's faux potted bamboo plant or a cute potted succulent to add some leafy style without cluttering your coffee table.
